These examples are given just to show what can happen in a month. i'm not sure exactly how many nut flush draws one should have in a month but combine these with your gut shot draws, 5 out draws, 7 out draws, etcetera and you can see that a lot of fluctuations can happen even to the better players. so step #1 is be prepared! you must prepare yourself for the long bad runs or it can be very detrimental to your game. here are some tips to help you while going through the bad times: losing streaks are a good time to reevaluate your game to try and identify leaks and areas to improve. yes, maybe you are not getting good cards, but the first thing you need to do is evaluate your game. is there something you can do to improve your results. buy poker stats tracker to help you analyze your statistics and compare your stats to the winning players. what statistics seem out of align? everyone always has areas of improvement. try taking a break for a couple of days or maybe even for a week. whenever you start to expect bad things to poker-images 2004 happen you might start to adjust your play and start to make poor decisions. for example, you might become more passive allowing an opponent to stay in the hand and draw out on you because you didn't bet or raise at the right time. try reading zen and the art of poker which discusses some things to consider to help control your emotions. take advantage of deposit bonuses. these bonuses are a great way to provide a little cushion at the lower limits against some bad runs. if you tend to tilt easily, avoid playing multiple tables. if you tend to tilt easily, set stop losses. i normally don't recommend quitting when you lose a certain amount in a given poker session.as long as the game has some weak players you will win in the long run. therefore, i don't set loss limits. however, if you tend to start playing poorly, playing more hands, and calling more often than you should just hoping to win that one big! By: lauren quinn when students come to colonia high school, no matter what interests them, they can find a club that will suit those interests. almost every student in chs who you talk to is involved in some sort of club. the best part of the high school experience is getting involved as much as possible and students in colonia definitely take advantage of all of the opportunities presented to them. clubs at chs consist of everything from fishing and dancing, to skiing and community service. some clubs are school tradition that have been around as long as anyone can remember, while others were just started recently by an ambitious student or faculty member who decided to find a way to express his or her passion for something. this month, we feature one club that has been around for a long time, and another that was started at the end of last year. the asian club is one of the newest clubs at our school. it was started last year by anjlee joshi, a student at colonia. the club's sixty to seventy members meet on wednesdays in the chorus room with their advisor, mrs. merkel. the club's purpose is to celebrate asian culture and share it with students of other backgrounds. this means that one does not have to be of asian descent in order to join. senior vanessa merker says, "although many of the members are asian, anyone interested in asian culture is invited to join." the club's first official event was last spring's asian food night, which was described as a "huge success". vanessa says, "parents, teachers, and students were treated to a huge buffet of home cooked asian food of many different cultures and traditional performances by asian club members. jeff wang displayed his skill at the traditional chinese yo-yo, christa chi performed a chinese ribbon dance, and two underclassmen performed an indian dance." senior amy shah says "the food night was great because so many people showed up. their interest was all genuine." also in the works for later this year are tea houses where tea will be served and asian games played. the club hopes to celebrate the chinese and korean new year with special events and a show to display the traditional talents of its members. always happy to see new faces at meetings, club members urge everyone to come to a meeting and see what it's like. whether you're asian or not, you can always be assured that you'll have a good time. interact is one of the most popular clubs in the high school. with over a hundred members signed up this year, club advisor mrs. sheehan was forced to move meetings to the cafeteria in order to accommodate the members. interact is designed to provide students with a chance to serve their community through various service projects. the club meets every thursday without fail in the cafeteria. during meetings, club members sit with planners in hand as mrs. sheehan reads out the dates and times of various events that members can volunteer for. then, they sign up for the event, and simply show up and volunteer. interact has built a reputation in the community for always having people to volunteer for almost anything. due to this reputation, some organizations even call mrs. sheehan to ask for her help in recruiting volunteers. some of interact's most recent projects have been, "hand in hand", an event held annually at the club in woodbridge for mentally and physically challenged people, fund-raising for the annual breast cancer walk, monitoring the "check out hunger" programs in local supermarkets, and tutoring elementary school students. later this year, members will be participating in the "christmas in april" project and also the "walk for life", another breast cancer walk. members say volunteering is very rewarding and it gives them a sense of pride to know they're helping their community. clubs are a way for people to express what's important to them, whether it's culture, community service or something else. joining and actively participating in a club can be very rewarding and the benefits can extend well beyond your high school years. so decide what interests you and get involved. winter 2004 -17 or poker stats.

As gambling expenditures increase, the values and belief systems of the older gamblers become jeopardized, subsequently triggering guilt and self-loathing. m.a., for example, told how his gambling problems were in conflict with his christian beliefs: "my son doesn't say much of anything about my gambling even though we're fairly close. i might not sound like it, but i a very strong christian, so sometimes i have some guilty feelings there." similarly, o.l. remarked how her behaviour was at odds with what she believed she should do: later you're disappointed with yourself, because you work so hard to keep your bills paid up, then, your charge card is up, you know darn well that maybe the last two hundred dollars you spent on gambling should have went towards paying off that card. guilt, in turn, is accompanied in several pathological gamblers by chronic worrying and remorse. p.l. acknowledged this: after a while, i started sitting back and thought and thought for hours and hours, that probably this year, kind of reason why i phoned you ; is that, i maybe lost four thousand dollars this year--and all this finally started to really worry me. p.m. also felt both guilty and worried about her gambling behaviours: you hate yourself; we always helped our kids so i shouldn't feel guilty because they're all well off. so i shouldn't feel guilty but i do. i then start to really worry about what happens if something happens to one of them--and then i kick myself! i should have given each of them twenty thousand dollars at least. [sigh] instead, i pissed it all away.Author reads, "zanesville, " kris saknussemm, bellingham festival of music: festival chamber players, st. paul's church, 7: 30pm and poker case.

Theoretical idea of a 'quantum computer', whereby such quantum parallelism might in principle be made use of in order to perform large numbers of simultaneous calculations. if a conscious 'mental state' might in some way be akin to a quantum state, then some form of 'oneness' or globality of thought might' seem more appropriate than would be the case for an ordinary parallel computer. there are some appealing aspects of this idea that i shall return to in the next chapter. but before such an idea can be seriously entertained, we must raise the question as to whether quantum effects are likely to have any relevance at all in the activity of the brain. is there a role for quantum mechanics in brain activity? the above discussions of neural activity have indeed been entirely classical, except in so far as it has been necessary to call upon physical phenomena whose implicit underlying causes are partly quantum-mechanical e. g. long, with their unit electrical charges, sodium and potassium gates, the definite chemical potentials that determine the on off character of nerve signals, the chemistry of neurotransmitters ; . is there any more clear-cut role for a genuinely quantummechanical control at some key place? this would seem to be necessary if the discussion at the end of the previous chapter is to have any real relevance. there is, in fact, at least one clear place where action at the single quantum level can have importance for neural activity, and this is the retina. recall that the retina is technically part of the brain! ; experiments with toads have shown that under suitable conditions, a single photon impinging on the dark-adapted retina can be sufficient to trigger a macroscopic nerve signal baylor, lamb, and yau 1979 ; . the same appears to be true of man hecht, shiaer, and pirenne 1941 ; , but in this case there is an additional mechanism present which suppresses such weak signals, so that they do not confuse the perceived picture with too much visual 'noise'. a combined signal of about seven photons is needed in order that a dark-adapted human subject can actually become aware of their arrival. nevertheless, cells with single- photon sensitivity do appear to be present in the human retina. since there are neurons in the human body that can be triggered by single quantum events, is it not reasonable to ask whether cells of this kind might be found somewhere in the main part of the human brain? as far as i aware, there is no evidence for this. the types of cell that have been examined all require a threshold to be reached, and a very large number of quanta are needed in order that the cell will fire. one might speculate, however, that somewhere deep in the brain, cells are to be found of single quantum sensitivity. if this proves to be the case, then quantum mechanics will be significantly involved in brain activity. even this does not yet look very usefully quantum-mechanical, since the quantum is being used merely as a means of triggering a signal. no characteristic quantum interference effects have been obtained. it seems that, at best, all that we shall get from this will be an uncertainty as to whether or not a neuron will fire, and it is hard to see how this will be of much use to us. however, some of the issues involved here are not quite that simple. let us return to the retina for its consideration. suppose that a photon arrives at the retina, having been previously reflected off a half-silvered mirror. its state involves a complex linear superposition of its striking a retinal cell and of its not striking a retinal cell and instead, say, travelling out of the window into space of. fig. 6, 17, p. 329 ; . when the time is reached at which it might have struck the retina, and so long as the linear rule u of quantum theory holds true i. e. deterministic schrodinger state-vector evolution, of. p. 323 ; , we can have a complex linear superposition of a nerve signal and not a nerve signal. when this impinges upon the subject's consciousness, only one of these two alternatives is perceived to take place, and the other quantum procedure r state-vector reduction, of. p. 324 ; must have been effected. in saying this i ignoring the many- worlds view, of. p. 381, which has its own multitude of problems! ; in line with the considerations touched upon at the end of the previous chapter, we should ask whether enough matter is disturbed by the passage of the signal that the one-graviton criterion of that chapter is met. while it is true that an impressively enormous magnification is achieved by the retina in converting the photon's energy into a movement of mass in the actual signal -perhaps by a factor of as much as 1020 in mass moved- this mass still falls short of the planck mass nip by a very large figure say about 108 ; . however, a nerve signal creates a detectable changing electric field in its surroundings a toroidal field, with the nerve as axis, and moving along the nerve ; . this field could disturb the surroundings significantly, and the one-graviton criterion might be easily met within these surroundings. thus, according to the viewpoint i have been putting forward, the procedure r could have been already effected well before we perceive the flash of light, or not, as the case may be. on this viewpoint, our consciousness is not needed in order to reduce the state-vector.
It'll be a struggle!" "yeah, but the longer it takes, the hornier he'll be when you finally get to do it your way." "what do i do then?" "you make him promise to be your love slave. after what you've told me about him, i think the best way to do it would be to tie him up and say something like, `now i've got you right where i want you. i'm going to make you promise to be my love slave for the rest of your life.' and go on to tell him what that means, including no drinking." "how do i make him promise?" "there's always the chance he'll promise right away. then you do whatever you like; just don't untie him until you're done and don't go back to having sex on his terms. if he doesn't agree right away, i think he'd respond best to being told you're going to play with him until he comes and he needs you to stop, and then you're going to keep playing with him until he gives in. that'll get it right out in the open that he can't resist you. do you know whether he gets sensitive after he comes?" "no, we've never done anything except straight missionary intercourse." "you never made him come by hand?" "no." "that's great! from what you've told me, he'll be really embarrassed at having you watch him come, especially if you make a point of being interested in the show and tease him about what he's going through. the only problem is not knowing whether he gets sensitive." "how do i find out?" "well, i've told you how i find out, but you might want to lay the whole thing on him all at once -- get him real horny without any alcohol to hide behind, tie him up for the first time, show him he can't resist you, make an obscene display of his orgasm, and make him promise to be your love slave right then and there. it would blow him away completely!" "you mean i should do it without knowing whether he gets sensitive?" "you could give it a try. there's a good chance he'll agree to be your slave right away, and then it won't matter. if he doesn't, you can figure he probably gets sensitive; i've only known one man who didn't. you can tell him you know all men get sensitive and hope for the best. just remember what i told you about which parts to keep rubbing." "oh, i remember that. that's the easy part. it's the rest of the scheme i'm not comfortable with. it has an awful lot of missing pieces, and i don't think i can make up for them with just a running start and a flying leap." "you could try any of the other approaches i've told you about, that worked for me, but you'd still have to adapt them a little. i've never tried to enslave someone i was already committed to." "i have, " said nora. holy.! "this weekend?" i asked. "friday evening.
